The sisters were convoked in Cebu last November 12. It was a long awaited meeting as some sisters were returning to Cebu after many years and others for the first time. The scorching heat did not dampen the joy, excitement and enthusiasm felt by each of the delegates. It is a moment of grace that the Regional Chapter is being held for the first time outside the capital and that it is in Cebu, as it celebrated 500 years of Christianity in 2021.
The Regional Chapter began on November 14, 2024. With a brief and simple blessing of the newly renovated chapel, sacristy and patio by Fr. Abel Villarojo, a priest from the nearby San Carlos Seminary, who also presided at the Mass of the Holy Spirit. Immediately after Mass, we entered into retreat, which helped us to be ready, open to the guidance and inspiration of the Spirit.
Geralyn Aleth N. Fenis, our Regional, read her warm, inspiring and hope-filled welcome greeting, emphasizing the invitation to total dependence on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, faithful prayer, critical reflection and magnanimity of spirit.
We count on your prayers for your family in the Far East. Be assured that we also have all of you in our thoughts and prayers.
