On Sunday, March 23, at 9:00 a.m., the Chapter community went to the Basilica of St. John Lateran to celebrate the Jubilee. It is the oldest and highest ranking of the four major or papal basilicas of Rome, and has the honorary title of “Omnium urbis et orbis ecclesiarum mater et caput” (mother and head of all the churches of the city of Rome and of the whole earth), because it is the episcopal see of the primate of all bishops, the Pope. It was consecrated by Pope St. Sylvester in 324.
Our sisters passed through the Holy Door and had a time of prayer before having the Eucharist in the Baptistery, presided by Fr. Elías Royón SJ, who said goodbye, after sharing and accompanying the days of the Spiritual Exercises, with words of encouragement, a lot of listening and living from the hope to which this Jubilee Year 2025 invites.
The sisters in Ariccia continue with their own chapter work… reading of reports, clarifications, interpellations and work in groups.
