Chapter Andean Province

On the 16th, after we all arrived at our home in Bogota, we gathered in the chapel to begin the day praying together.

At 9:00 am Fr. Mauricio Rojas SJ, who will also be our advisor in this Chapter, came to give us the talk. He spoke to us about the importance of asking the Spirit for the grace to be responsible with the Congregation and with the Charism, to be women who converse with the Holy Spirit. He put on the table the following texts Gn. 6,5-8; Gn. 11,1-9 and Acts 2,1-11, but always emphasizing not to include everything, but to stay where the Spirit is leading us.

He also presented the Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii gaudium of Pope Francis and asked us the following question: Is the Congregation as we have known it or are we ready to open ourselves to the newness of Easter?

On the 17th we had the Mass of the Holy Spirit, everything was prepared and we were able to experience the presence of the Lord in our midst. After the Mass we went in procession singing the Hymn of Vicenta Maria “Fill the Airs” to the Chapter Hall, carrying the following symbols: The Word, the Constitutions, the flags of the 4 countries that compose the Province, the Coat of Arms of the Congregation and the Light. Sr. Laura Camacho, Provincial Superior, opened the VII Provincial Chapter of the Andean Province.

The days become very intense because of what it means to be listening to so much information, but we are thankful for the wealth of information we have, the memory of the state of the province, economic, formation, mission, pastoral, the reality of the province, the MOLAVIM….

We are sensing that the Spirit is present in the midst of this chapter community, blowing with that softness that is so gentle and silent, entering into the heart of each one, to welcome the new things that may arise.

Uniting ourselves to St. Vicenta Maria we thank God for everything.

Your Sisters of the Chapter community of the Andean Province.
